2-day Paris adventure for first-time visitors
Paris, divided neatly by the Seine River, offers a unique experience on both sides. Spend your first day exploring the bohemian Left Bank, home to the Latin Quarter, and your second day discovering the vibrant Right Bank. Here's how you can make the most of your 48 hours in the City of Light.
Day 1:
Morning: Start your day with a coffee and croissant at a local bakery before heading to one of Paris' beautiful green spaces. The Luxembourg Garden, known for its palace and formal gardens, is a popular choice. Alternatively, enjoy a hop-on hop-off bus tour for some relaxed sightseeing.
Afternoon: Visit the renowned museums of the Left Bank. Opt for skip-the-line access to Musée d’Orsay or book a tour of the intriguing Paris Catacombs. A walking tour of the Latin Quarter will introduce you to cultural landmarks like the Panthéon and Shakespeare & Company bookstore.
Night: The Eiffel Tower is an iconic symbol of Paris. Book nighttime tickets to see Paris lit up after dark and dine at one of its elegant restaurants.
Day 2:
Morning: Embark on a walking tour of the Right Bank with its numerous sightseeing opportunities. Explore Marais—formerly a Jewish district now filled with trendy boutiques—or window-shop along Champs-Élysées.
Afternoon: Swap boulevards for galleries in the afternoon by visiting world-class museums such as Louvre or Centre Pompidou known for its innovative exhibitions. You could also visit Musée Picasso dedicated to the cubist master.
Night: Spend your final evening in Montmartre neighborhood atop a hill. Admire Sacré-Coeur Basilica's white facade before watching sunset over cityscape. End your stay on high note with dinner, Champagne, and cabaret show at Moulin Rouge.
